Send That Text

You are not alone.

Sprinkled on top of the many new responsibilities of pregnancy and parenthood is the desire to remain a good friend.

It can be challenging to maintain relationships while experiencing these significant life changes.

Texts can go unanswered for days by total accident. It can take weeks to find a convenient time to catch up with a friend. This quiet guilt gets added to the laundry list of to-do’s that run through our minds as we fall asleep at night, just to be pushed aside until our heads hit the pillows the next night and we realize that another day went by without a text to that friend who might need a simple “hello”.

That “hello” text could make a difference in your friendship, not only for your friend, but for you. That sentiment may strengthen the invisible string that ties you together and holds you up.

They say it takes a village to raise a child.

What this means is that you are not alone. Investing time with the people you love strengthens your network, adds to your resources, and opens communication during a time in our lives where we need it most.

So send that “hello” text, because the mutual benefit can be more impactful than we realize. Relieve that invisible guilt and be a good friend. The Bumpdate App is there to help you along the way.

We help you remember to start that much-needed conversation.

Whenever I have finally contacted someone who I have thought about messaging for a while, it is always met with an immediate response. It feels that everyone is looking to reconnect, so it is always the right thing to do to be the one to reach out and check in with friends. Even a short exchange can help to maintain connections.
Thanks for all your thoughts and advice on your blog!
