Working Mama
Starting your own business is wild. But starting one while pregnant or caring for little kids? That’s a special kind of wild. And yet, every day I meet mothers who’ve done, and are doing, just that. Because once you’re in it, you suddenly know what’s missing in the world.
For me, that “aha” moment came when I was sitting with my 4-month-old, surviving off supplements and half-eaten bowls of oatmeal. I knew I was depleted, undernourished, and barely hanging on. It wasn’t that I didn’t know what to eat, it was that I didn’t have the bandwidth to take care of myself. At the time, I had no idea just how common that reality is for new mothers, especially here in the U.S., where we often enter motherhood in isolation.

Rebuilding the Motherhood Village
Gone are the cohorts of aunts, neighbors, and sisters showing up to support our recovery. Culturally, we’ve lost that web of care, but thankfully, we’re beginning to rebuild it. I’m heartened to see a new wave of mother-founded brands, like Bumpdate, rising up to meet the real, nuanced needs of modern motherhood. There’s power in that: women identifying the gaps because they’ve lived them, and then creating better solutions for the next mother in line.

Postpartum Healing
Back to bandwidth. It was, and still is, tapped. What was available were a lot of balls, bars, and cookies, most of them focused narrowly on lactation. What I needed was something that supported the full spectrum of postpartum healing: hormone regulation and balance, immunity, digestion and microbiome health, tissue repair and muscle function, calm energy and sleep support, and yes, milk production for those who are breastfeeding.
That’s what inspired me to create Mamala Organics, something simple, functional, and powerful: whole-food, nutrient-dense snacks made with science-backed ingredients that support our biology and symptom set.
Real Food as Medicine
Real food-as-medicine for the up to 10-year, nutrient-critical life stage that is postpartum.

But Mamala is about more than nutrition. It’s about care. It’s about maternal love, shared and passed forward. Whether you’re a cousin, a friend, a brother-in-law, be a Mamala and show up for a Mamala.
What followed the “aha” moment were years of figuring out how to get Support Snacks to market, which can be hard to admit. But two babies (four if you count my dietitian’s two, she’s been with me since this idea was a zygote), four food scientists, and two production facilities later, we finally have a collection I’m so proud to share: Mamala Support Snacks™.
Mamala Support Snacks

The question I get asked most is: Can my husband/kids/grandma eat these?
The answer: Absolutely.
In a world where most products are formulated around a man’s biology, from protein bars to Tylenol, this is a product made with women’s needs in mind. But the ingredients? They’re incredible for anyone.
We’re here to bridge the gap and help you get in the nutrient rich foods that your body needs to heal, revive, and thrive.
