Drool Sergeant Sleep: Consulting Confident Sleepers, Confident Parents

Meet Kerry, Owner

As a mom of two boys, Oliver (8) and Henry (6), I remember the newborn phase clearly: the exhaustion, the uncertainty, and the constant second-guessing. That’s when I became determined to understand baby sleep. I researched everything I could, tracked schedules, tested routines, and stayed consistent. Over time, it paid off — both of my boys became strong, confident sleepers.

Since then, I’ve been the person friends and family reach out to when they’re struggling with their baby’s sleep. I’ve created structured plans, shared tools, recommended apps, and helped parents feel capable again.

While writing yet another detailed sleep plan for a family member with a newborn, I realized this wasn’t just a hobby. I decided then to become a certified sleep consultant and newborn sleep specialist through the Institute of Pediatric Sleep & Parenting.

That’s how Drool Sergeant Sleep Consulting began. My approach is supportive, structured, and personalized. Sleep isn’t luck — it’s a process. With the right plan and consistent follow-through, better nights are possible for every family.

Building Healthy Sleep Foundations Early

Establishing healthy sleep habits early (2–3 months old) can make a meaningful difference in how your baby learns to sleep. At this stage, babies are naturally beginning to develop rhythms and patterns, making it the perfect time to introduce gentle structure, consistent routines, and positive sleep associations. By laying this foundation early, many families find that sleep challenges are minimized and if formal sleep training is needed later, it tends to be much smoother and more straightforward. Small, intentional steps early on can lead to more restful nights for everyone.

Consistency Creates Lasting Sleep Success

Consistency is one of the most important factors in successful sleep training. Babies and toddlers learn through repetition, so responding the same way at bedtime and during night wakings helps them understand what to expect and builds confidence in their ability to fall asleep independently. When routines or responses frequently change, it can lead to confusion and make progress slower. With consistency, sleep training becomes clearer and more effective; often leading to better, longer stretches of sleep. Whether you begin building sleep habits at 3 months or wait until your baby is older, consistency is the key to success. And no matter where you’re starting, it’s never too late to create healthy sleep patterns and see meaningful, lasting improvements.

Quality sleep supports so many areas of development, including mood, behavior, growth, and learning. Well-rested babies and toddlers are typically more settled, better able to regulate their emotions, and more engaged during the day, making sleep a foundational piece of overall health for the entire family.

Let Drool Sergeant Sleep Consulting help your family get the rest you deserve—with a plan that feels simple, supportive, and achievable. Better sleep is closer than you think.
