Hayley Davis is a Registered Dietitian, board licensed nutritionist, children’s book author, and a mom. She has been practicing dietetics for 10+ years and started working clinically in the hospital setting. During that time, she worked in a hospital as a RD and in the evenings she taught cooking classes. During this time, Hayley realized she was providing nutrition education while class was in session and she was on a mission to merge the two positions. This led her to outpatient nutrition consulting seeing clients 1:1 for various needs. As a Registered Dietitian, Hayley says she truly thrives by helping others improve their overall wellbeing. Hayley’s nutrition expertise provides clients ease in discomfort, simplifies the complexity, and guides them toward optimal health in and out of the kitchen. After becoming a mom, Hayley discovered a missing gap in the children’s book space for educating nutrition in kid-friendly language. As a dietitian and a parent, she knew the importance of teaching children about healthy foods early on. But when she searched for books on nutrition, she realized that most didn’t quite capture what she was looking for: a fun, engaging way to introduce the foods exposed every day to a toddler, like fruits and vegetables. She wanted a book that could spark curiosity, help kids recognize nutritious choices, and be something families could read together…enjoying the experience while learning. So, Hayley decided to write a book that would combine her passion for nutrition with a playful approach. By teaching about fruits and vegetables through colorful pictures and accessible language, Hayley could make sure kids had the opportunity to learn information they could recognize and relate to in real life. The mission of Hayley’s book, There is a Rainbow in My Lunchbox is for parents (and caretakers) to see their child’s excitement when they recognize foods from their meals, and feel a sense of pride knowing they are helping build a foundation for a healthy future.
