A newfound optimism
Every year on January 1, we wake up with a chance to start fresh. This year, more than any before, it feels like that might actually be possible.
Life is short and unpredictable.
Quarantines, sickness, loss, fear of the unknown. TTC, pregnancy, becoming a new parent, watching as a friend or family member started or grew their families – all of these scenarios were heightened as they all occurred during a scary time in our world’s history. And yet, we all persevered.
The definition of “to persevere” is “to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success”. Collectively, we persevered through the pandemic, through life’s challenges, and we now sit here in 2022 with a chance to start fresh. To continue with a newfound optimism.
So this year, instead of setting a resolution that will hang over our heads, we can set an intention.
We can intend to start each day with something small but attainable that brings joy. Something that allows us to consciously walk into the next day better than we were the one before.
We persevered through different journeys that brought us all to this moment. This beautiful opportunity to see the good in yourself and others – to spread love and hope in this new wonderful year.
